In his book, “Overcoming the Five Dysfunctions of a Team”, Patrick Lencioni describes commitment as “the ability to defy a lack of consensus”. While Lencioni was alluding to executive team-building, I’ll take a small liberty by phrasing it this way:
Commitment is the courage to defy a lack of inner consensus.
When there is no consensus within ourselves – when doubt, excuses, a need to seek permission, and fear threaten to shut down your vision – acknowledge the discord, then defy it.

What does your heart hunger for? What inner wisdom can no longer be silenced?
